Our Services

OUR SERVICES

WE OFFER A COMPREHENSIVE RANGE OF SERVICES SPECIFICALLY, AIMED AT IMPROVING YOUR CHILD’S SPEECH, LANGUAGE, SOCIAL COMMUNICATION, AND FEEDING SKILLS.

Assessment

The initial assessment is an important and necessary step to understanding and evaluating the child’s strengths and weaknesses. A detailed assessment, both formal and/or informal, are offered depending on the child’s ability and needs. We assess the child’s communication, language, speech, play, feeding and social skills.

Individualised Therapy

After the initial assessment, an individualised treatment plan and goals will be prepared, with reference to parents’ concerns and priorities. We offer individual therapy, using various therapy approaches such as:

⦁ The Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS)
⦁ Sara Rosenfeld-Johnson’s Oral Motor Therapy (TalkTools)
⦁ The Hanen Program
⦁ Prompts for Restructuring Oral Muscular Phonetic Targets (PROMPT)
⦁ SOS Approach to Feeding
⦁ Interactive-Oral Sensory Motor Approach (IOSM)
⦁ Nuffield Centre Dyspraxia Programme (NDP3)
⦁ Language Extension and Expansion techniques
⦁ Modeling techniques and others

Therapy frequency can be weekly, fortnightly or monthly review sessions as recommended by therapist. Each therapy session is an hour long, including feedback.

Feeding Therapy

We provide support and therapy for children with feeding difficulties. A detailed assessment of the child’s oral-motor skills, oral sensitivity, as well as their feeding skills will be done. After which, an individualised treatment plan for the child will be prepared. Feeding therapy is a long journey that requires patience and understanding for the child’s challenges. At Noah’s Arc Speech Therapy, we are committed to walk this journey with our children and their families.

Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC)

AAC refers to all other means of communication besides talking. It can be in the form of signing, pictures, written words or the use of technology to help someone communicate, even when speech is minimal. The use of AAC (such as the Picture Exchange Communication System or PECS) greatly benefits some of our children who are still learning to talk or have challenges with speech. An assessment of the child’s communication, as well as language and motor skills are necessary to determine the most suitable AAC for the child.

Parent and Caregiver Training

Research has shown that parents play an important role in their child’s development. Therefore, we believe in supporting our parents, just as much as we support the child. We demonstrate, explain and teach our parents skills that would allow them to bring intervention home.
